Look at a number, check the place,
Rounding makes it simple to embrace!

The Rounding Rule
Find the place you're rounding to,
Then look at the digit next to you.
If it's zero, one, two, three, four,
Keep your rounding digit as before!

If it's five, six, seven, eight, nine,
Round it up—it works just fine!
Then change the digits to the right,
Make them zeros, neat and bright!

Round it up, round it down,
Rounding numbers all around!
Five or more? Go up with cheer!
Four or less? Keep it here!

Look next door, then make your choice,
Round those numbers, use your voice!
Up or down, now we can say,
Rounding numbers is fun today!

Let's round a number to the tens,
Here we go, my counting friends!
Look at the ones and check it out,
That's the digit we're talking about!

Thirty-two stays thirty,
Thirty-seven rounds to forty!
Forty-four stays forty too,
Forty-eight becomes fifty—woo!

Look at the tens and check the score,
Four or less means keep before!

Two hundred seventy becomes three hundred!
Four hundred forty stays four hundred,
Four hundred eighty becomes five hundred!

Fun Counting Part
Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty,
Rounding numbers makes us nifty!
One hundred, two hundred, three hundred too,
Round them up when five comes through!

A little sign, a tiny circle line,
The percent sign says, “One hundred is mine!”
One hundred pieces, all in a row,
Percent helps us tell how many we know.
Ten out of one hundred? That’s ten percent!
Twenty out of one hundred? Twenty percent!
Fifty out of one hundred, what do we get?
Fifty percent—don’t forget!
Half of the whole, nice and clear,
Fifty percent is halfway here!

Put them together—the whole is wide!
